Instructions for Essiac Tea Preparation
Please be advised when purchasing the powdered version of Eight Herb Essiac, it is required that you do the following:
- Boil one quart of distilled water in a stainless steel, glass or enamel pot (do not use aluminum) plus 4 ounces to compensate for evaporation.
- Add one packet, which is one ounce of Essiac, to boiling water.
- Simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Turn off heat and let Essiac cool to room temperature, leave in pot for 12 hours, do not refrigerate until next day
- The next day, stir the pot and pour into a 1 quart glass container and store in the refrigerator.
- When starting to take the Essiac Tea, remove from fridge, shake container to prevent herbs from settling, and measure two ounces.
Drink the two ounces on an empty stomach. Two ounces twice per day is the recommended "maintenance dosage". For those in need due to illness and disease, you can take 3 ounces three times per day. Remember, drink quickly before the herbs settle.
Essiac Tea Soft gels require no special storage or preparation.
